The SG851R is a motorsports-grade big bore steering box with cylinder assist ports, designed as a new replacement for the problem-prone factory steering in 1994-2002 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks.

Based on the 2010+ Dodge XD platform, this steering gear has been modified for direct bolt-in installation, allowing it to work with OEM pressure and return lines and the OEM 36-spline pitman arm.

One of the key upgrades is the increase in lower bearing size from 35mm to 45mm, significantly reducing side-to-side deflection of the sector shaft—the primary cause of Dodge steering wander.

Important Note

PSC is not aware of any aftermarket steering gearbox braces, including the SB300K, that are compatible with the SG851R.
